A stunning silver Maine Coon from Minnesota named Mr. Pugsley Addams has earned a Guinness World Record for having the longest tail of any living domestic cat. Measuring 18.5 inches (46.99 cm), Pugsley’s tail easily surpassed the previous record of 16.07 inches.
According to his owner, Amanda Cameron, Pugsley’s exceptionally long tail was first noticed during his initial vet visit. However, it wasn’t until his next checkup six months later that the family realized just how remarkable it was. After her internet-savvy kids researched the current record, they were shocked to discover Pugsley had already beaten it.
Known for his curiosity and mischievous nature, Pugsley is also a loving and affectionate cat who adores his family. He shares his home with two sisters, Winnie and Dutchess, and a brother named Gomez—inspired by the Addams Family patriarch. Much like his namesake, Gomez is fiercely affectionate, while Pugsley charms everyone with his calm demeanor.
The family believes Pugsley is fully aware of his extraordinary tail, given how expressive it is and how often it gets in the way. Now a local celebrity, Pugsley has won hearts not just for his record-breaking tail but also for his sweet personality.
As Guinness World Records marks its 70th anniversary, the family is already considering other potential titles for their accomplished feline. One thing is certain—Pugsley’s tail has made him unforgettable.
